John Wellbourne suffers from cerebral palsy and epilepsy and says he needs more support. A man with disabilities who had a care package in place for three hours a day has had it cut to just 15 minutes every morning. John Wellbourne, who lives in Londonderry, told BBC Newsline's Family Focus that he suffers from cerebral palsy and epilepsy and needs more support. He says he cannot do ironing or washing, and cannot shower himself without supervision due to a danger of him falling. He told us he was unable to take a shower for eight weeks because he had no help, adding: "You don't have any voice...that's awful." The Western Trust said it could not comment on an individual's care due to client confidentiality. BBC Newsline's Sarah Travers reveals that until last June, John Wellbourne had a care package in place.
