The ombudsman looked into a number of murders |
The family of one of the victims named in the Police Ombudsman's report on police collusion with the UVF say they want those involved brought to justice. Speaking publicly for the first time since his death 10 years ago, John Harbinson's daughter Joanna said they had lost all confidence in the police.
"There was a boot print on his head. I am sure if they got a boot they could have matched it," she said.
"Even with the ombudsman's report, no-one contacted us about it."
"We do not know what to do now.
"Do we go to the police and ask them to reopen the case? There is no-one here to advise us."
Mr Harbinson was murdered on 18 May 1997. He died after being handcuffed and beaten by a UVF gang on the Mount Vernon estate in north Belfast.
A spokesman for the Police Ombudsman's office has said the office will be meeting with all the victims' families in the days ahead to make sure they have a full briefing.
