Minister in call to young drivers
Car crash scene
The twins and their friend were killed in the collision
A minister at the funeral of Belfast twins killed in a weekend car crash has said there was a need for a "change of mindset" amongst young drivers.

Marc and Wayne Wallace, 19, died when the car they were in hit a tree on Ballygowan Road on Saturday.

Their friend David Campbell, 18, who was driving, also died in the accident. He was buried on Tuesday.

Archdeacon Gregor McCamley said he intended to appeal to Marc and Wayne's friends to change how they drive.

"Young people think they are invincible. They bolster that up by thinking that, as it were, 'when your number's up your number's up', but they don't think it will happen to them," he said.

"Accidents don't just happen, they are caused."

Reverend McCamley's 16-year-old son was left permanently brain damaged in a road accident.

The funeral service for the twins was held in St Columba's Church on Thursday afternoon.

A total of 42 people have been killed on Northern Ireland's roads so far this year.
