Connor Bogues has been lost at sea since Thursday |
The search for the body of fisherman Connor Bogues - missing since the trawler Greenhill sank near Ardglass last Thursday - has ended for the day. Most of the boat has been searched and the operation will resume on Wednesday.
An exclusion zone around the wreck has been lifted and it is expected civilian dive teams will re-join the search.
Accident investigators have arrived from Southampton to begin an inquiry into the sinking which also claimed the life of fisherman Donall Gibson.
On Tuesday, Army divers, working under police supervision, searched near the wreckage.
Bad weather on Monday forced divers to suspend their search.
Mr Bogues has been lost at sea since the trawler hit rocks near the County Down fishing port.
The body of his friend, Mr Gibson, 22, from Downpatrick, was recovered by divers on Sunday.
Mr Gibson is to be buried on Wednesday.
A third man, the skipper of the vessel, was rescued and treated in hospital for hypothermia.
Hundreds attended a vigil for the men at the quayside in Ardglass on Sunday night.
Another vigil was held in Ardglass on Tuesday night.
Meanwhile, some of the volunteers taking part in the search want funding for a dedicated team of fully trained and equipped volunteer divers based in the area.
John Lowry of Newcastle Coastguard said: "Within a couple of hours, locally, we can be on scene.
"We live here and we know the area, we know the coastline, the rivers, the lakes.
"We know what is needed, and sometimes to get that resource from 50 miles away takes a lot longer."
