The back door was damaged in the fire |
A fire at a Catholic priest's home in County Antrim is being treated as arson, police have said. Flames were spotted at the rear of the building at the Sacred Heart Chapel on Doagh Road in Ballyclare at about 0215 GMT on Saturday.
Wheeled bins were set on fire and pushed against the back door of the house.
Three stained glass windows were also smashed in the chapel.
A police patrol managed to put out the flames.
Detectives have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
Father Eugene O'Hagan said the attack was obviously premeditated.
He said those responsible had "tampered with the surveillance cameras so they wouldn't be picked up on CCTV".
