Ireland's biggest ever rock concert has taken place in Dublin's Phoenix Park.

An estimated 135,000 people attended the event on Saturday which was headlined by UK singer Robbie Williams.

The concert was the culmination of the star's summer European tour which included a record-breaking three night run at Knebworth Castle in the UK last weekend.

A major security operation was in place at the Phoenix Park just outside the city centre.

It was the biggest event in the park since the Pope visited the country in 1979.

Support acts included Downpatrick band Ash and Kelly Osbourne who performed ahead of Robbie Williams, whose two hour show began at 2030 BST.

The concert featured the biggest stage seen in Ireland, with 5,000 revolving lights and six giant video screens.

More than 120 police officers managed traffic around the concert, while another 400 policed access points.
