Petrol bomb attack on police
County Antrim house targeted in petrol bomb attack
A woman and two teenagers escaped injury in the attack
Police have come under a petrol bomb attack in County Tyrone.

The trouble began when the security forces were called in to examine a suspicious object in the Ballycolman industrial estate in Strabane.

Officers were attacked by youths armed with petrol bombs and stones during the security alert.

The alert happened just after midnight.

A controlled explosion was later carried out on the object which was declared a hoax.

There were no reports of any injuries.

Scorch damage

Meanwhile, a family has escaped injury after a petrol bomb was thrown at their County Antrim home.

Three people were asleep at the house at Cairn Crescent, in Crumlin when two petrol bombs were thrown, one at the family car.

The device thrown through the living room window failed to ignite.

However, scorch damage was caused to the car and the living room.
