The owners of three companies have announced plans for a total of 108 redundancies at their bases in Wiltshire. Furniture-makers Smallbone, of Devizes, and Mark Wilkinson, in Bromham, are to lose 100 workers between them. The companies will be brought together on one site following their rescue in March, new owner Leo Caplan said. Home appliance maker Dyson also revealed it was considering cutting eight jobs at its Malmesbury factory. About 400 jobs were saved when Smallbone and Mark Wilkinson were taken over by Mr Caplan. A Dyson spokesman said: "The challenging economic environment means that we have to scrutinise every area of the business, to increase efficiency. "If this proposal goes ahead, it would affect eight roles at our head office. "We continue to employ over 1,000 people in Malmesbury."
