The Conservative Party has lost overall control of Salisbury District Council in the local elections. It lost eight seats, and now has 30 councillors in place. But the Lib Dems gained 10 seats, taking their total to 19. Labour lost one seat, giving them 10 councillors, and there are four "others". The council has now passed into no overall control (NOC). It was under NOC in 1999, until the Tories won a controlling majority in 2003.
