Mast approval ends school battle
Vodafone has been given permission to erect a mobile phone mast in Swindon, effectively ending a campaign to stop it being put up near a local school.

The company last month withdrew plans to locate the mast close to Tregoze primary school after parental concerns.

But a fresh application to place it on council land at Tewkesbury Way, an alternative site suggested by parents themselves, has now been approved.

Vodafone denied the change of heart was linked in any way to a health risk.
