Elderly warned conmen operating
Elderly people in Wiltshire have been warned by police to check the identity of anyone calling at their homes.

The move follows a spate of distraction burglaries in Salisbury, Tisbury, Wilton and Hindon on Monday evening.

A police spokesman said in each case two men wearing overalls had tricked residents by claiming to be workmen from the gas or water board.

"If you have any doubts about verifying a caller's identity you should call the police immediately," he said.
