Couple target elderly residents
Police are hunting thieves who have been targeting the homes of elderly people in distraction burglaries.

A woman claiming to be from Age Concern called at the home of an elderly couple in Hengoed near Oswestry on Wednesday.

A man broke into the back of the house while they were talking which resulted in one of the occupants getting into a tussle with him.

The same couple are also thought to have stolen money from a pensioner's home in Chirk earlier that day

West Mercia Police said it is unclear if anything was taken in the burglary in Hengoed which took place at about 1400 GMT.

Officers said the couple acted in an aggressive manner but were not violent.
