Bubbly from royal wedding is sold
Rare magnum of vintage champagne
The magnum is believed to be one of only 12 ever produced
A champagne magnum dating from the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer has been sold.

The magnum sold for 1,050 after failing to reach its reserve price on Wednesday at Swindon's Dominic Winter auction house.

The magnum was recently retrieved from a dusty attic in Luton, Bedfordshire.

Chris Albury, from the auction house, said: "A man just called out of the blue and agreed a price of 1,050. He's a genuine collector."

The limited edition Cuvee Dom Perignon 1961 vintage was selected as it was the year of the bride's birth.

It is understood that 99 bottles of the vintage - regarded as one of the finest ever produced - were shipped across from France's Champagne region for the wedding.

Six were delivered to the royal household, the rest were presented as gifts to drink trade charities.
