Street warden scheme acknowledged
street wardens
Street wardens operate in Swindon, Bristol and Gloucestershire
A street warden project in Swindon has won financial backing from the government.

The scheme, based in Parks and Walcot, will become one of 12 Warden Resource Centres in England: a regional hub of best practice.

The centres will receive 4.5m over the next three years from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister.

Jeff Rooker, Minister for Regeneration, said: "Wardens are popular with the residents they serve.

"The expansion of Warden Resource Centres will ensure that the excellent work going on at the most successful schemes is shared with others in their region."
