NHS trust's star ratings failure
Ambulance
The Mid-Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust and Lincolnshire's Ambulance Service have been given zero star rating in the annual NHS performance league tables.

Managers at Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust said they were disappointed to get only one star for a second year.

But several hospital trusts across the region, including Barnsley and Bradford, achieved three-star status.

Star ratings assess the performance of health services in a number of areas.

York Hospitals NHS Trust achieved two stars, thwarting its plans for foundation status.

The Health Care Commission assesses if organisations have met various government targets and checks how the health trusts are being run.

This year, information from patients about their experiences has also been gathered and assessed.
