Views wanted on city's future
Leeds
People can say what should be the priorities for Leeds
Residents in Leeds are being asked to give their views on how the city should develop over the next 10 to 15 years.

Four years ago a blueprint for the city's future, called Vision for Leeds, was unveiled.

It is now being revisited to check the document's priorities are still the right ones for the city.

It has been prepared by the Leeds Initiative which brings together public, private, community and voluntary organisations.

They want to develop the city's role as an internationally competitive venue, improve the qualilty of work, and make it a place people want to live, work in, and visit.

Keith Wakefield, chairman of the Leeds Initiative and council leader, said a lot had been achieved in the last few years.

He said: "Regeneration programmes have started to revitalise some of our deprived neighbourhoods.

"Economic growth has resulted in a huge number of new jobs and the city centre continues to thrive with a growing population.

"Involving the people of Leeds in identifying the main issues of concern and ways to tackle these is an important part of developing the Vision for Leeds."
