The pair ran 11 laps of the Centennial Park in the Australian city |
A blind runner has completed the fourth leg of his challenge to complete seven marathons in seven days. Dave Heeley, 50, from West Bromwich, and his guide Malcolm Carr took four hours and 40 minutes to run the 11 laps of Centennial Park in Sydney. The pair have already completed marathons in Rio de Janeiro, the Falklands and Los Angeles. They will then go on to Dubai and Tunis before running the London Marathon on Sunday. If he completes the challenge, Mr Heeley, a married father-of-three, and Mr Carr will have run 183.4 miles in approximately 168 hours taking over 250,000 steps. The endurance test, raising money for the Guide Dogs For The Blind Association, has previously only been completed by adventurers Sir Ranulph Fiennes and Dr Mike Stroud.
