MP to fight toilet closure plan
An MP is launching a petition to keep toilet facilities open in a town centre after a council announced plans to close them.

Lorely Burt, Liberal Democrat MP for Solihull, said it is a basic civic duty to provide decent, clean toilets in town centres, shops and parks.

Last week Solihull Council said it wants to close all six public toilets to save 7m.

Shoppers would have to use facilities pubs and libraries instead.

Ms Burt said it is short-sighted of the council to close the toilets to save less than 1% of its budget.
