Airport undergoes �30m expansion
Birmingham International Airport is undergoing a �30m expansion to enable it to cope with more passengers.

The Terminal One departure lounge is being expanded along with the immigration area and the baggage hall.

More desks and baggage systems are being added in Terminal Two. Spokesman Peter Veller said the changes had to be made to cope with the boom.

Last month, the airport recorded its busiest day with 38,190 passengers travelling through in 24 hours.

It also recorded its busiest month in July with 1,023,697 people using the airport.
