Bruce Langham joined Aston Villa in May |
Aston Villa's new chief executive, Bruce Langham, has agreed to meet with the club's supporters. He will answer questions at the AGM of the Villa Supporters' Trust, which will be held at the club on 29 June.
Mr Langham joined Villa earlier this month after holding a similar position at Fulham.
Throughout this season, fans have called for chairman Doug Ellis to sell the club and a protest march against the board was held in November.
A spokesman for the Supporters' Trust said: "We welcome Bruce Langham's appointment and share his views on the business of Aston Villa.
Stand off
"However, the board still lacks important representation in other areas, not least in the form of greater supporter involvement."
Mr Langham will meet fans at the end of a turbulent 12 months off the pitch for the West Midlands team.
A group calling itself Villa Fans Combined has demanded all season that Doug Ellis should leave the club and even enlisted the help of local businessman Howard Hodgson to see if fans could buy the chairman out.
Mr Langham commented on the stand off between the supporters and directors when he was appointed chief executive.
He told the Birmingham Post: "If my being here at Villa makes the relationship between the fans and Mr Ellis better then I'll be very pleased.
"That's not why I'm here though - Doug Ellis can take care of himself."
