Airport 'creating jobs in area'
Coventry Airport
Coventry Airport has big expansion plans
Coventry Airport says its operations have created almost 370 new jobs for the region, approximately 70% of which are from Coventry and Warwickshire.

Another expansion plan has led to a flood of applications and inquiries from local jobseekers.

The launch of low-cost flights in March has provided opportunities from check-in staff to firefighters and caterers to car park staff, the airport says.

Annette Fitzgerald from the Chamber of Commerce says it is "great news".

Low-cost operator Thomsonfly launched services from Coventry to Jersey, Malaga, Rome, Valencia and Venice.

The airport said it has plans for further expansion.
