Coventry Airport is writing to local residents about the plans |
Coventry Airport is finalising a planning application for a new car park which would mean an end to bussing passengers through a village. The facility would be on Middlemarch industrial estate close to the terminal.
Buses currently transport passengers from a car park on the west side of the airport through Bagington village.
The news comes as Thomsonfly has announced that the Bagington airport is to serve more European destinations.
From November the low-cost operator will offer flights to Amsterdam, Alicante in Spain, the skiing areas of Salzburg and Grenoble, as well as two new Irish destinations of Shannon and Cork.
Letters are being sent to all residents in the village to explain the car parking plans and to seek their support.
The airport is finalising a planning application to be sent to Warwick District Council.
