Yardley Crematorium was packed to capacity |
More than 300 mourners have paid their respects at the funeral of a Birmingham radio DJ who died after confronting burglars at his home. Heart FM presenter Tushar Makwana, 37, died in hospital last month, three days after he was found lying in the road outside his home in Castle Bromwich.
It is thought he was hit by the gang's getaway vehicle as they made their escape.
Nine people have been arrested and bailed in connection with his death.

Numerous tributes were paid to Mr Makwana at the service at Yardley Crematorium on Thursday afternoon.
One of them was from his former Heart FM colleague Ed James.

The presenter said: "He loved life and enjoyed life. "He was a strong character - straightforward, honest, down-to-earth. With Tush, what you saw was what you got."
Mr Makwana, a father-of-three, was born in Uganda and moved to Britain in the 1970s.
His family have been praised by Birmingham coroner Aidan Cotter for allowing his organs to be used for transplant.
In 2002, he won a Silver award at the Sony Radio Academy Awards, for his series about the 25th anniversary of UB40.
