Youth bailed in DJ murder inquiry
Tushar Makwana
Tushar Makwana died in hospital from head injuries
A teenager arrested on suspicion of the murder of a radio DJ has been released on bail, say police.

The 17-year-old was detained on Tuesday as part of the investigation into the death of Heart FM presenter Tushar Makwana, said West Midlands Police.

Mr Makwana died from head injuries three days after confronting burglars at his Birmingham home.

A police spokesman said the youth was not one of six teenagers previously arrested in connection with his death.

Detectives believe Mr Makwana was run over after confronting intruders outside his semi-detached house in Castle Bromwich.

A police spokesman said the youth, from the neighbouring Castle Vale district, was not one of six teenage boys previously arrested and released on bail in connection with the break-in during the early hours of 9 February.

The married father-of-three was found by his wife Deepika and taken to hospital where his life support machine was switched off three days later.

Mr Makwana was born in Uganda, but moved to the UK in the 1970s.
