Fourteen people have been banned from pubs and clubs in a Cumbria town after an operation by police and local landlords. The group, made up of men and women, have been excluded from licensed premises in Workington following a meeting of licensees.
Those excluded have been blamed for a range of offences including drugs, public order and violence.
The exclusions will cover the Christmas and New Year periods.
'Behave yourself'
One man had his exclusion increased to 12 months for breaches of an existing exclusion.
Insp Joe Murray, of Cumbria Police, said: "The message to members of the public is clear, if you socialise in Workington, behave yourself or your social life will be severely restricted.
"With the nearing of Christmas and New Year, people should be mindful that any arrests for violence or disorder will result in an immediate exclusion from all licensed premises, so think before you react.
"Is it really worth it staying indoors while your friends party."
