Petition sparks nusiance action
Complaints about anti-social behaviour on Teesside has led to a council and police pledge to combat the problem.

Almost 300 residents of the Dyke House area of Hartlepool signed a petition complaining of problems with illegal street drinking and motorbikes.

Everyone who signed will now be contacted and those who referred to a particular nuisance will be asked, in confidence, to provide further details

This could then allow enforcement action to be taken.

Cleveland Police, the Safer Hartlepool Partnership's Anti-Social Behaviour Unit and Housing Hartlepool have joined forces to tackle the problem.

Joanne Hanson, who initiated the petition, said: "It is a positive step that we are working together and I wish that more people would come forward to put their views across."
