Cleveland Fire Brigade is hoping to shock young drivers into driving more safely on roads on Teesside. The "Learn and Live" initiative is aimed at drivers aged 16-21 who are in education or apprentice training.
They will be shown a short film using graphic video footage of victims being cut from car crashes. The aim is to shock and provoke thought in drivers.
Steve Walton, Coulby Newham Station Manager, said he hoped the scheme will reduce the amount of fatal crashes.
He said: "Coulby crews respond to a large number of special service calls, particularly road traffic accidents.
"We wanted to take proactive steps to reduce casualties rather than having to turn out and sometimes literally pick up the pieces."
The launch of the campaign takes place on Friday at the King's Academy on Stainton Way in Coulby Newham.
