Pupils tell drivers to slow down
Children determined to make the road outside their Surrey school safer have been stopping speeding drivers.

Year Six pupils from Laleham CofE Primary School wore yellow bibs to monitor the traffic on The Broadway, in Laleham, which has a 30mph limit.

About 40 drivers were stopped on two separate mornings during the past week by the children, who used police speed guns.

The motorists were asked why they had exceeded the speed limit.

The fastest speed recorded was 41mph.

The children were helped in their mission by a road safety officer for Surrey County Council and a police casualty reduction officer.
