A first glimpse has been offered of what a new �7m art gallery and museum will look like on the inside. The Lightbox's entrance foyer and main staircase have been visualised by Marks Barfield Architects, before the venue's summer opening in Woking, Surrey.
A shop and cafe on the ground floor will have views across the gallery's gardens to the nearby canal.
More than 10 years of work have been put into developing the arts attraction for Woking.
Of the interior artist's impression, Lightbox director Marilyn Scott said: "We feel a real 'wow' every time we think of walking into the building."
One of the main features of the entrance area will be an installation by light artist Peter Freeman.
It is a glass window with coloured film and blinking lights, which will "give an illuminated raindrop-like pattern in the building".
