Work starts on new 350m hospital
Work is due to start on a multi-million pound plan to revamp the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.

The changes will eventually include new buildings, car parks and a helipad, as well as a cancer treatment centre.

The hospital said parking will be difficult at the site over the next few weeks as some temporary car parks will have to be closed.

As part of the plan a new car park with 500 spaces will be completed later in the year.

The hospital, which is currently on several sites, will be moved to new buildings at the City General in Hartshill as part of the 350m plan.

Under the scheme the Royal Infirmary and central outpatients sites are due to close.
