Plans for councils across Staffordshire to take over parking enforcement from the police are being discussed. If the plans are approved, it will bring the rest of the county into line with Stoke-on-Trent.
Staffordshire County Council said by bringing parking under local authority control, it will mean better traffic management and parking regulations.
The council says the revenue gained from fines and charges will mean more money available for transport plans.
In Stoke-on-Trent, council-employed wardens have clamped down on motorists.
The Staffordshire Moorlands and Stafford will be among the first areas likely to take part if the plans are accepted at a meeting on Wednesday.
