Polish dentists recruited by NHS
Health managers in Staffordshire have offered posts to dentists from Poland to ease the shortage of NHS dentists.

Two dentists from Poland have been offered work at practices in Stafford to start in March 2005.

They are currently undertaking extra training while considering the offer from South Western Staffordshire Primary Care Trust.

Many newly qualified dentists choose to work in private practices because of under funding in the health service.

The Trust says it is hoping to secure funding for three more overseas appointments.
