Plans for garden waste collection
Garden waste could soon be collected from outside people's homes in a Staffordshire town.

Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council is considering setting up a pilot scheme which would cost about 70,000.

It would have to provide extra wheelie bins but the idea of charging householders has been ruled out at this stage.

The service is being proposed for about 2,500 homes in parts of the Westlands, Seabridge and Clayton.

Council workers would have to do overtime as collections would be on days when domestic refuse is not being taken away.
