The man in charge of London's Olympic Games is opening a West Sussex sports centre which has the only Olympic-size swimming pool in the South East. Sebastian Coe will be at K2 in Crawley on Tuesday for the official opening of the 37m sports complex.
Lord Coe, chair of London's Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG) will then tour the building.
Since opening to the public in November K2 has had 150,000 visitors and 3,000 people have taken out membership.
"K2 is the biggest boost for regional health and sport since London won the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games so I'm delighted to have the opportunity to show it to the man behind the successful bid," said Crawley Borough Council cabinet member Robbie Sharman.
The centre, which also has one of the most advanced climbing walls in the country, was funded by the sale of Crawley's old leisure centre site, which will be developed for housing.
Its facilities are used by specialist sports college Thomas Bennett Community College, which is on the same campus.
