Bus services in Brighton are in line for a national award and the city council is also on the shortlist to be named Transport Authority of the Year. Winners of the National Transport Awards will be announced on Tuesday.
The authority has already won several awards for travel in the city and has earned praise for a transport information website launched last year.
Brighton council said entry numbers were high this year for the awards run by the Centre for Transport Policy.
The council won a National Transport Award last year and has also been recognised in awards from the Guardian newspaper, the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and the Local Government Chronicle.
Carolyn Dwyer, Brighton's assistant director for sustainable transport, said: "The fact that bus services have been consistently recognised is the result of an excellent working partnership with Brighton and Hove Buses that is second to none."
Roger French, the managing director of Brighton and Hove Bus Company said the firm was "constantly striving to improve services".
