The festive footballers swapped the pitch for the camera lens |
Football players hoping to raise more than 100,000 to help fund a new stadium have taken their kit off for a set of raunchy Christmas cards. The Brighton and Hove Albion stars posed semi-nude, with only festive decorations to preserve their modesty.
Proceeds from the Seagulls' cards are going to the Alive and Kicking Appeal, which is aiming to raise 2m.
They depict the players in various scenarios, all shot on location at Brighton Marina.
New stadium
The club's appeal was launched in September as part of its fight for a new stadium at Falmer.
The calendar is one of many fund-raising schemes to bolster the club's funds as it fights for a new stadium.
The Seagulls applied three years ago for planning permission to build a 22,000-seater stadium at Falmer, on the outskirts of Brighton, after their former home, the Goldstone Ground, closed in 1997
A public inquiry into the plans for a new stadium began in February 2003 and is due to re-open in February 2005.
