A karaoke machine has been seized from a house in East Sussex by police and council officers. Wealden council said officers obtained a warrant from Eastbourne Magistrates Court after excessive loud music was reported at the house in Polegate.
The council is now holding the machine pending a decision on whether to take further legal action.
A spokesman said that if a prosecution takes place against the householder, the machine could be confiscated.
'Full force of law'
"No-one should underestimate the levels of nuisance that repeated and excessive noise pollution can cause," Councillor Pam Doodes said.
The cabinet member for health and public safety said the council and the police were working together to try to reduce anti-social behaviour.
"Officers will seek to resolve all anti-social behaviour issues informally, but where this cannot be achieved the full force of the law will be used," she said.
The authority said the noise abatement notice was served in April and the occupier was formally cautioned at the end of May.
A spokesman said further complaints were received during September and October and the warrant was obtained on 10 November.
