Much of Sheffield was badly affected by the summer floods |
Sheffield MP David Blunkett has met city flood victims who say they are at "breaking point" four months after the summer devastation. Many living on Winn Gardens estate, which was badly affected by the floods, are struggling to rebuild their homes.
Resident Jean Ashmore said: "We're stuck in a paper trail of assessors, insurers and builders. We're at breaking point."
Mr Blunkett held an advice surgery with residents on the estate on Saturday.
In a letter to residents affected by the flooding, Mr Blunkett said: "From being around the area recently, it is clear that many people are still encountering difficulties following the floods.
"I have heard about people having problems with their insurance claims, people worried about future insurance quotes and people unsure what grants they can claim.
"We hope to try to resolve some of these problems at the advice surgery."
