Probe into mayor's planning role
Elected mayor Martin Winter
Mayor Winter said the claim was politically motivated
Police are continuing to investigate the mayor of Doncaster, Martin Winter, over a planning application.

Political opponents and some members of his own Labour Party had alleged he used influence to affect a decision. The police say inquiries are ongoing.

Mr Winter said the allegations were "politically motivated".

He is also being investigated by police over election expenses and there is a separate police inquiry into the Glass Park project, which he helped to run.
