Litter louts face stiff penalties
Litter bugs and irresponsible dog owners who do not clean up after their pets have found themselves facing stiff penalties in South Yorkshire.

In a purge across the Rotherham area offenders have had to pay out over �1,000 as the borough council gets tough.

A man who ignored a �50 penalty for not clearing up after his dog fouled a playing field was ordered to pay over �230 in fines and court costs.

A woman who dropped litter and ignored the penalty has had to pay �300.
