Sheila Yorke is to meet Sven-Goran Eriksson |
A 68-year-old great-grandmother has got her feet firmly on the ball after becoming one of Britain's oldest football coaches. Sheila Yorke, from Darnall, Sheffield, is now set to mark her achievement by meeting England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson.
She has also been asked to present the man-of-the-match award at the FA Community Shield between Manchester United and Arsenal on Sunday.
It comes after the lifelong Sheffield Wednesday fan recently completed the McDonald's FA coaching programme.
'No nonsense'
Sheila first formed a junior football team a couple of years ago after seeing youngsters roaming the streets with nothing to do.
And she has developed an impressive coaching record with her under-14s losing just two games last season.
She said: "I don't stand any nonsense. I have brought five children up and I have always been a disciplinarian."
But speaking about her young players she added: "My kids are precious to me and I love them to bits."
Sheila says she hopes to pick up new coaching skills when she meets the England boss.
She said: "I think he can give me a few tips. I want to know what he does when he gets players who can't be bothered to train."
