Sir Ian Botham has already raised millions for charity |
Former cricketer Sir Ian Botham is to begin his latest charity walk in Taunton, it has been announced. Sir Ian's 12th charity walk begins on 10 October in the town where the former England all-rounder started his cricketing career. Special charity chocolates will go on sale at each of the nine locations he is due to visit. Winners who find one of 40 golden tickets in the chocolates can walk with Sir Ian for one leg of the journey. Over nine days the trek will take in Windsor, Berkshire; Tunbridge Wells, Kent; Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk; Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire; Llandudno, north Wales and Harrogate, North Yorkshire. Beefy's Charity Chocolates will go on sale locally for a suggested donation of 1. Sir Ian said: "I'm walking again in October to beat childhood leukaemia but I need the Great British public to support me. "People can buy my chocolates - that's a hardship isn't it? - and if you find a golden ticket, bad luck, you have to come and work off what you've eaten. "Seriously, the chocolates are a great way to support my charity walk and donate to Leukaemia Research at the same time."
