Opponents say the wind farm will dominate the landscape |
A planning application for a wind farm in Somerset is to go out to public consultation. Your Energy wants to build 12 100m tall turbines on land near Hinkley Point, which it said will help power about 13,000 homes in the region.
West Somerset District Council said it will open up the consultation and treat the application as new due to the number of changes that have been made.
A final decision is now expected some time in the autumn.
Richard Mardon, managing director of Your Energy, said: "This is the most comprehensive planning application that we have ever made as a company.
"With minimal environmental impacts our project will enable us to serve over a third of west Somerset's households with renewable energy and go most of the way in meeting West Somerset's renewable energy targets in one project."
Greenpeace backs the plans, which are opposed by a residents' action group.
