Budding actress dies in collision
Accident on A303
Nine people were taken to hospital
A woman who died in a Boxing Day crash was a budding actress hoping to start a television career.

Helen Elizabeth Kirk, 24, died when her silver Chevrolet Matiz crossed the carriageway and collided with a car being driven in the opposite direction.

The crash happened on the A303 near South Petherton on Boxing Day.

Her family said she had been involved in amateur dramatics since an early age and graduated from Aberystwyth with a first class degree in Drama.

'Vivacious, wonderful'

Recently Ms Kirk had been auditioning for parts in radio, TV and theatre.

Ms Kirk, who grew-up in the Shaldon area of south Devon, leaves a mother, father and two brothers who are both aged in their 20s.

A family spokesman said she would be deeply mourned by her family and friends "who have lost a wonderful, loving, vivacious daughter, sister and friend".

It is believed Ms Kirk was startled by an overtaking car but police say there was no suggestion that the other car was to blame.

Nine other people were hurt in the collision involving two other vehicles - but none of these were said to be life-threatening.
