Woman killed in three-car crash

Nine people were taken to hospital
A woman has died and eight other people including two teenagers and a child, have been injured, in a road accident near South Petherton in Somerset.

It happened on Monday morning on the A303 Boxstone Hill, between Southfields and South Petherton roundabouts.

A 22-year-old woman from Devon, driving a Chevrolet, hit an oncoming car. A third car was also involved.

Nine people were taken to hospital. The Chevrolet driver later died and two people are in a critical condition.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the accident, which happened at 1030 GMT, to contact them.
