Lady Chatterley's Lover has been turned into a television drama | A rare first edition copy of one of the 20th Century's most controversial novels has been sold for 3,290. The 1928 copy of D H Lawrence's Lady Chatterley's Lover is just one of 1,000 from that year signed by the author. The novel was first printed in Italy because Lawrence realised its erotic nature was going to cause outrage in the UK. The final sale price at the Bath auction house was more than 700 above the estimated price.
