Engineering firm buys Wrekin site

Wrekin Construction offices
The firm owes 20.7m and went into administration in March

A civil engineering company based in Yorkshire says it has bought a site belonging to a construction firm which collapsed with debts of almost £21m.

Wrekin Construction, in Shifnal, Shropshire, went into administration in March with the loss of 500 jobs.

The engineering firm told BBC News it wished to remain anonymous but said there were plans to create jobs at the site, though it could not say how many.

A creditors meeting is scheduled for 13 May.
