Oak Farm is staffed by people with learning difficulties

A village farm shop in Shropshire has opened following a project helped by 47,000 in lottery funds.

The Oak Farm Shop in Ditton Priors is staffed by people with learning difficulties who also grow most of the produce on a smallholding next door.

Project manager Marian Giles said the aim was for a shop which was "rustic, affordable, charming and lovely".

The shop in Station Road, which sells produce including jam and pickles, held an official opening on Thursday.

The scheme is run by Pathways-Shropshire, a social business supported by the county council.

The shop is based in a former agricultural building which was renovated after the project was awarded funding from the People's Millions Big Lottery Fund last November.
