 Drivers arrested after road safety checks |
One man was arrested on suspicion of drugs offences and another charged with drink driving after a road safety crackdown in Telford. The Woodside Local Policing Team and the Road Policing Support Team stopped 91 vehicles during the operation.
Four vehicles were seized because they were uninsured or the driver did not have the correct licence.
Local policing officer PC Berwyn Pratt said he was pleased with the results of the operation.
Driving offences
During the operation a 32-year-old man from Brookside was arrested on suspicion of intent to supply class A drugs.
Officers found drugs valued at �50 as well as �450 in cash and several mobile phones when they searched the car he was in.
Other drivers were given fixed penalty notices for a variety of driving offences and 15 were given verbal warnings.
Officers used the force's Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system to check drivers and their vehicles.
