Hospital protest's day at races
A campaign to save one of Shropshire's hospitals from closure is to get an unusual and high profile boost.

Ludlow Racecourse opens its season on Thursday and has named the 3.30 race as the Save Ludlow Community Hospital Handicap Steeplechase.

Clerk of the course, Bob Davies said politics and sport can mix.

Ludlow Hospital is one of three cottage hospitals in the county under threat after Shropshire's health services said they were more than 30m in debt.
